| Overview The Volkswagen CC four-door coupe combines sports car dynamics and interior comfort usually associated with a sedan. The 2010 Volkswagen CC is a new premium midsize sedan that is built on the same design platform as the Passat and Jetta. The car has a coupe-like raked roofline and seating for four instead of five. The CC is available in four trims: Sport, Luxury, VR6 Sport, and VR6 4Motion trim. Available features include front and rear obstacle detection, a navigation system with rearview camera, leather upholstery, a navigation system, and a power sunroof.
The CC receives a handful of changes for 2010 like the 2.0T's adoption of VW's six-speed automated-clutch DSG transmission (Replacing the last year's conventional six-speed automatic), newly standard Bluetooth, a new touchscreen-operated audio system, new wood accents for the VR6 and new rear badging that shows "CC" and indicates the trim level.
Powertrain and Performance The FWD Volkswagen CC Sport and Luxury derive power from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder good for 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. On the Sport, a six-speed manual transmission is standard and a six-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission (DSG) is optional. DSG is standard on the Luxury trim. The fuel economy estimates stand at 22 mpg city/31 mpg highway and 25 mpg combined with either transmission.
The VR6 Sport and VR6 4Motion versions receive a 280-hp 3.6-liter V6 coupled with the 6-speed automatic. A floor shifter can manually operate the automatic transmission in 4-cylinder models; V6 versions have steering-wheel paddles for the same. VR6 4Motion models come with all-wheel drive; while four-cylinder models are front-wheel drive only. Fuel economy is estimated to be 19/29 mpg (city/highway) with automatic transmission.
Build and Styling The 2010 Volkswagen CC has a long hood, sweeping roofline, and a short trunk lid. The car has an athletic look highlighted by large wheels and tires, a deep front air dam, and a prominent grille. Even in the base trim, the 2010 Volkswagen CC is well appointed with exquisite fit and finish. Inside the cabin, the four individual sport seats sit low to provide a sportier driving experience.
The S comes standard with an eight-speaker stereo and a six-CD changer and an auxiliary audio jack; a tilt/telescoping steering column; power front seats with lumbar and driver memory functions; heated front seats; leatherette premium vinyl upholstery; split-folding rear seats; automatic climate control; a trip computer; cruise control; auto up/down windows; fog lights; and 17-inch alloy wheels.
The Luxury Package adds a large tilt-only sunroof; automatic headlights; front and rear park assist; dual-zone automatic climate control; leather upholstery; automatic wipers; alloy trimmings; and satellite radio (Sport).
The VR6 Sport trim level includes a V6 engine as well as the equipment on the S Luxury Package. It also adds a 10-speaker premium sound system (optional on the VR6 Luxury), adaptive bi-xenon headlights, a power rear sunshade, steering wheel paddles, and 18-inch wheels.
The Technology Package brings a back-up camera, a hard-drive navigation system, digital music storage capability, and iPod integration.
