The 2010 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen is a sporty and functional wagon version of Volkswagen's top-selling Jetta model. The Jetta SportWagen combines practicality with European style and balances both style and sportiness?exceptional ride and handling and class-leading safety features, coupled with its functional design are perfect for those with an active lifestyle. The Jetta comes with Volkswagen's carefree maintenance program. There are no charges for the scheduled maintenance for the length of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty - three years or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Powertrain and Performance

The Jetta SportWagen is powered by a 2.5-liter, five cylinder engine that produces 170 horsepower and 177 lbs.-ft of torque. A 2.0-liter, turbo-charged, four cylinder engine that produces 200 hp and 207 lbs.-ft. of toque is available. For customers who want an efficient alternative fuel vehicle, the Jetta SportWagen TDI is also available with an all-new 2.0L clean diesel engine that produces 140 hp, and an impressive 236 lbs.-ft. of torque. With this clean diesel engine the consumers do not have to compromise when it comes to performance and fuel efficiency. To connect the driver with the clean diesel TDI engine, either a standard six-speed manual transmission, or optional DSG six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic control, can be selected.

Build and Styling

The exterior of the Jetta SportWagen is excellent with a chrome grille that gives a distinctive look which goes great with its distinctive German engineering. It is standard on S, SE, SEL and TDI trims. The other standard features include diversity antenna, dual exhaust tips, dual reflector headlamps, exterior signal mirrors, Laser seam welding and panoramic sunroof. The interior has 6 airbags, 60/40 rear seat, auxiliary input jack, fold flat seat, lane change feature blinker and Next Gen RNS510 Navigation system. The Jetta SportWagen has a usable cargo room - 32.8 cubic feet to be exact, or an even more impressive 66.9 cubic feet with the rear seat folded down. For those whose active lifestyle requires even more room, there is an optional fold-flat front passenger seat that provides additional cargo space. Fold-flat front passenger seat is available with "V-Tex" leatherette seating.

Safety Features

The Jetta SportWagen comes with Volkswagen's Prevent and Preserve Safety System, with over 40 standard safety features including six standard airbags, with optional rear side airbags. Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP) is now standard on all 2010 Volkswagens.
