Overview

The Passat has traveled U.S roads for close to 35 years. For 2010, Volkswagen has decided to do away with various accessories. The 2010 Volkswagen Passat is refreshing with its dapper design, nimble handling, great space, and wonderfully tasteful interiors will continue to make its mark. VW's DSG dual-clutch automated manual transmission instead of the previous manual, multifunction steering wheel, radio and Bluetooth connectivity are new and 18-inch wheels are optional for 2010.

Powertrain and Performance

The 2010 Volkswagen Passat is now available in a single trim - Komfort. The engine configuration has not changed from last year. The Passat runs on the same 2.0-liter, turbo-charged, four-cylinder engine that generates 200 horsepower and 207 lb-ft. of torque with Volkswagen?s DSG transmission. This engine propels the Passat to 60 mph in 7.4 seconds. With a healthy EPA fuel consumption average of 22/31 mpg (city/highway), this is an exciting vehicle to have.

Build and Styling

The 2010 Passat Komfort is loaded with features inside and out. An exterior that stands out is the "diversity" antenna. This consists of a pair of antennae; whichever one of these receives the stronger signal will transmit it to the system, making sure that reception does not get affected in virtually any condition. Also given for the exterior are features such as standard 16-inch wheels which can be upgraded to 17 or 18 inches; power glass sunroof; exterior signal mirrors; LED technology for turn signals, brake lights, and rear markers; and an integrated logo. The interior of the 2010 Volkswagen Passat gets three power outlets; 60/40 rear seat; auxiliary input jack; electronic parking brake; heatable front seats; key fob; lane change blinker; trip computer; and multi-function steering wheel as key comfort features.
